Explanation of Columns in Comparison Table

Model: Manufacturer and model number of each indoor grill.

Rating: Based on average consumer ratings from available online sources.

Grilling Surface Area: Approximate size of available grilling area.

Removable Plates: Indicates whether or not the grilling plates can be removed from the unit for cleaning. (Generally speaking, a grill with removable plates is much easier to clean.)

Temperature Control: Indicates whether or not unit includes any type knob or digital feature that allows you to adjust the cooking temperature. (Some grills have no temperature control and no on/off switch; you simply plug them in for “on” and unplug them for “off”.)

Adjustable Angle: A number of the George Foreman grill models include a lever that enables you to adjust the angle or “tilt” of the grill so that grease will drain off of fatty foods and into the drip tray. Other grills, such as the Cuisinart GR-4N, do not let you manually adjust the tilt, but they are still designed so that grease from foods will drain off of the grill plate and into a drip pan.
